![]() …before we go I’d like to thank you again for all your help and leave you with some kind words about the apartment for you to pass on to others. From the moment we stepped foot inside the door we’ve felt at home. The apartment itself is spotlessly clean and in great condition. It’s beautifully furnished, there’s a modern bathroom/toilet with a great shower and a never-ending hot water supply! A communal laundry facility with washing-machine, dryer and sink and limited cooking facilities. We did a majority of our cooking on the BBQ outside in the garden which overlooks the Gorge Inlet. Even in the colder weather it was worth throwing a steak on the BBQ just so we could take in the view. All laundry detergents and softeners, products we needed to clean the apartment, dish-washing liquid and even our toilet paper for the four months we were there! We found the apartment to be a good size for us, but we’d recommend that most people only stay for a short term. It got a little cramped after the first month. The location was also very handy. It’s a 5 minute stroll to the nearest bus stop where a bus leaves every 20 minutes for the 15 minute journey downtown and it’s only a 10 minute walk along the picturesque Gorge Inlet to the nearest shopping mall which has a supermarket, drug store, video outlet and pizza joint. There’s also a garage so there’s plenty of space to park your own vehicle if you need to. So, all-in-all, Amy and I were very happy with the apartment, its location and especially the manner in which we were treated. Please recommend it to as many people as possible. Thanks… Mark Brine |
![]() What a wonderful vacation, so relaxing! Ayum house had every convenience we needed and extras we didn’t know we needed! Loved the little extras – binoculars, bird watching guides, guidebooks for the region, a welcome gift basket, Beverley’s personal welcome and “au revoir”, etc. The two kayaks and the canoe were a real bonus. If you love wildlife this is the vacation home for you. We saw deer, rabbits, seals, blue herons, kingfishers, and other wildlife from the house. A few miles away, while hiking, we were lucky enough to see orcas. The house kept our three (active and adolescent) sons entertained and yet we could relax. There’s enough space to do your own thing. We come away with great memories and have fallen in love with Vancouver Island. Sue Fuller |
![]() The location was perfect, and we didn’t really have any problems with the size. If we are out that way again (and we will be!), and need that kind of accommodation we will be in touch. Thanks once again, Jenny and Alan Jackson |
![]() The Rockies were probably the highlight for us all – such magnificent mountain vistas and wildlife every day. But first our thanks to you for your $50 cash contribution to our ferry to Anarcortes without which our departure would have been much more difficult. We got so used to not carrying much cash that we were caught out at the ticket window when only cash (and preferably American cash!) was accepted. But with your money and emptying the children’s pocket money purses we made it. And Beverley was confirmed as our Vancouver Island guardian angel! Enjoy the summer and thank you once again for looking after us so magnificently. Jenny Trethewey |
